JANESVILLE — The Janesville School District is accepting enrollment applications for the Preschool 4 Janesville (P4J) program, its four-year-old kindergarten, for the 2025-26 school year.
Enrollment is through scheduled appointments only.
Families with children turning four years old on or before Sept. 1 may enroll in the program. State law does not allow for early entrance into public 4K programs.
To schedule an appointment, call 608-743-5011 between 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Enrollment packets are available for pick up at the district office, 527 S. Franklin St.
A parent or legal guardian is required to be present to enroll a child in the program. That person must provide photo identification, their child’s birth certificate and immunization records, a proof of residency and completed enrollment packet paperwork.
“P4J offers a high-quality 4-year-old Kindergarten experience with no fees or costs to families,” a statement from the district reads. “P4J is a half-day program which helps students develop skills needed for success in school.”
Class times vary depending on whether the location is at an elementary school or a community-based site. There are 19 sites parents may choose from.
Non-residents interested in having children in the P4J program must apply for open enrollment. Questions may be directed to Deen Hartley at 608-743-5152.
