JANESVILLE – Janesville firefighters responded late Monday to a house fire in the 200 Block of North Washington Street. Firefighters arriving on the scene around 10:30 p.m. found smoke coming from the residence and were told a person was reportedly still inside.

The fire was quicky contained and all residents were found to have safely evacuated. The Janesville Police Department and Alliant Energy were also on the scene. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Janesville Fire Department.
