“The backup resulted in untreated sewerage coming from a manhole on Hudson Street and overflowing into the nearby storm water drainage way. City crews were notified of the situation and the discharge was stopped by approximately 9:15 a.m. It is estimated that 30 gallons were released into the storm water drainage way,” a release said.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has been notified and risks to the public were deemed low, the release said. The situation continues to be monitored and all debris has been removed, and the area has been cleaned and disinfected, the release said.
