“It took us until the second half to really settle into the game,” Hammen said. “Parker started the game with something to prove, and we struggled a bit with our pace and simplicity early on.

“Craig’s offense exploded in the second half, with the team cleaning up their play, moving the ball better, and making excellent runs off the ball.”

The Cougars offense scored five goals in the second half to push past the Vikings. In 60 minutes in the net Camden Nouansacksy recorded a save and Willian Alvarez finished the final 20 minutes in net and recorded two saves.

Meco scored four goals and Karanja three, giving two Cougars the coveted ‘hat trick.’

The Cougars are now 1-9 overall and 1-6 in the Big Eight Conference.
