JANESVILLE — A 53-year-old man was arrested for his first OWI, on Friday evening, before being arrested again five hours later after leaving a local bar for another OWI.
According to a release, a Janesville police officer responded to a vehicle near Milton Avenue and Blackbridge Road, after a caller reported the vehicle driving all over the road.
Jeffery Janecek, of Janesville, was stopped near the 1200 block of North Ringold Street shortly after 5 p.m. Janecek failed standardized field sobriety testing and was arrested. He gave a blood sample, with results still pending. A sober person took custody of Janecek from the Janesville police department at 6 p.m.
Later that evening, a Janesville officer observed a vehicle, deviating from the lane and traveling 15 mph below the speed limit, driving southbound on Milton Avenue near Mt. Zion Avenue around 10:30 p.m.
After a traffic stop, Janecek was identified as the driver and was still under the influence of alcohol. He failed field sobriety testing again and was arrested for a second OWI. A second blood sample was taken and results are still pending.
Janecek was held at Rock County Jail, but was no longer confirmed by the jail on Monday afternoon.
