JANESVILLE—The School District of Janesville will host a P4J (4-year-old Kindergarten) enrollment kick-off event on Saturday, Feb. 22, at the district’s Educational Services Center, 527 S. Franklin St.
The aim of the enrollment kick-off event, which is offered by appointment only, is to enroll 4K students to attend P4J during the 2025-26 school year. Families with a child (or children) turning four-years-old on or before Sept. 1, may enroll in the SDJ’s P4J program for the coming school year.
Wisconsin state law does not allow for early entrance to public 4K programs.
To schedule a kick-off appointment for Feb. 22, 2025, call (608) 743-5038 between 7:30 a.m.- 4 p.m. starting Monday Feb. 10 through Friday Feb. 21.
Enrollment packets – which must be completed prior to enrollment appointment – are available for pick up at the Educational Services Center.
A parent or legal guardian is required to be present to enroll a child in the SDJ P4J program. As part of the enrollment process, a parent/legal guardian must provide:
Proof of residency (a recent copy of a dated term lease, government mailing, or bill dated within the last 60 days)
Completed enrollment packet paperwork
Additional P4J enrollment appointments are available if families are unable to attend the kick-off event. Families can call (608) 743-5011 to schedule an appointment for dates after Feb. 22. School District of Janesville non-residents interested in having a child attend SDJ P4J must also apply for Open Enrollment between Feb. 6 and April 28.
Questions and concerns regarding the open enrollment process can be made to Deen Hartley at (608) 743-5152.
