Janesville- and Milton-based Rainbow Bridge is rocking through its 50th anniversary tour this summer. The band consists Cyndi Meyer on lead vocals and keyboard, lead guitarist, Jeff Arnold, drummer Bob Hamann and bass guitarist Denny Wayne.

JANESVILLE — Cyndi Meyer and Jeff Arnold launched The Rainbow Bridge Band in 1976 in Jeff’s dad’s basement in Milton after playing in other bands. Little did they know 50 years later they’d still be jamming in joints in Rock County, throughout Wisconsin and into northern Illinois.

“If when I was 20 years you would have said, ‘At 67 years old, do you think you’re still going to be doing this?’ I would have went, ‘I don’t even know if I’m still going to be alive,” Cyndi said.

The Rainbow Bridge Band, entering its 50th anniversary, aims to have its music danceable, its members say. Pictured are audience members dancing to a Rainbow Bridge performance May 17 at Bootleggers in Tiffany.
