Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Donald Trump are set to meet for the third time this year. Among the issues for discussion: Israels 21-month war against Hamas in Gaza and questions over how hard Trump will push for an end to the conflict. Trump has made clear that following the 12-day war between Israel and Iran, he would like to see the Gaza conflict end soon. The meeting between Trump and Netanyahu could give new urgency to a U.S. ceasefire proposal being discussed by Israel and Hamas, but whether it leads to a deal that ends the war is unclear.
New details have emerged of the latest Gaza ceasefire proposal submitted by mediators to Hamas, while Israel has sent a negotiating team to Qatar ahead of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahus White House visit. U.S. President Donald Trump will meet with Netanyahu on Monday. The document shared with The Associated Press outlines plans for a 60-day ceasefire. During that time, Hamas would hand over 10 living and 18 dead hostages, Israeli forces would withdraw to a buffer zone along Gazas borders with Israel and Egypt, and significant amounts of aid would be brought in. Negotiations for a permanent ceasefire would take place.
Hospital officials say Israeli airstrikes have killed 14 Palestinians in Gaza and another 10 were killed as they sought food aid. U.S.-led ceasefire efforts appear to be gaining momentum after nearly 21 months of war as Israel's prime minister visits the White House on Monday. Weary Palestinians expressed cautious hope Saturday after Hamas gave a positive response to the latest U.S. proposal for a 60-day truce. But the militant group said further talks are needed on implementation. Two American aid workers with the Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundationwere injured in southern Gaza in an attack at a food distribution site.

President Donald Trump says Israel has agreed on terms for a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza and warned Hamas to accept the deal before conditions worsen. Trump announced the development Tuesday as he prepares to host Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for talks at the White House on Monday. The U.S. leader has been increasing pressure on the Israeli government and Hamas to broker a ceasefire and hostage agreement and bring about an end to the war in Gaza. I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas takes this Deal, because it will not get better IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE, he said.
