WHITEWATER The Whitewater Arts Alliance will host Painting with the Whitewater Stars, a one-night event when well-known local figures will swap their usual roles for paintbrushes and canvas in support of Whitewaters arts community.
The event is Friday, July 11, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Whitewater Cultural Arts Center, 402 W. Main St., in Whitewater.
Participating community leaders and local personalities who partnered with a Whitewater Arts Alliance coach to create original works of art include: Aurora Hospice Chaplain and Whitewater Arts Alliance member Angie Alesci, local high school student Mary Anderson, UWWhitewater College of Business and Economics Dean Paul Ambrose, City Public Art Committee member and state Rep. Brienne Brown, First Citizens State Bank CEO Jim Caldwell, First Citizens State Bank board member Gary Kincaid, UWWhitewater Interim Provost Robin Fox, Family Equality Executive Vice President of External Affairs Kim Simes, Edward Jones financial advisor Alister Huss, Whitewater Superintendent Samuel Karns, UW-Whitewater Chancellor Dr. Corey King, ReVamp Nutrition owner Jerica Newby, First English Lutheran Church Pastor Joseph ODonnell, Whitewater City Manager John Weidl and Marjorie Stoneman a Whitewater Arts Alliance member and member of Whitewater Unites Lives and Be Kind Whitewater.
Their paintings will be auctioned off during Whitewater Arts Alliances 20th Anniversary Gala on Aug. 8, with proceeds supporting the Alliances year-round programming, exhibitions, and creative outreach across the region.
With a suggested donation of $10, attendees can enjoy a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere while watching the artists in action, enjoying light refreshments, and getting a first look at the pieces before they go to auction. Doors open at 4 p.m. and painting begins at 4:30 p.m.
This event is a fun and engaging way to bring the community together, showcase creativity from unexpected places, and raise important funds that support our mission. Everyones invited to come out, cheer on their local stars, and be part of something fun and memorable, Gallery Director Kim Adams said in a release.
