UW-Whitewater Band Director Glenn Hayes said participants can expect “a great time making music with other fun-loving folks.”

There are typically 70 members in the band. Most are from Whitewater, but also from surrounding communities including Fort Atkinson, Palmyra, Lake Geneva and Burlington. You must be 18 years or older to join.

“We play a broad variety of musical styles and bring together generations of musicians from the community and university,” according to a release announcing the start of the season.

Practices begin this Monday, Sept. 8, from 6:30-8:45 p.m. at UW-Whitewater’s Greenhill Center of the Arts, 950 W. Main St., Whitewater. Rehearsals will continue every Monday night leading up to a fall concert on Monday, Nov. 10, and two concerts in the spring.
