JANESVILLE — A suspect in a recent shooting was arrested Wednesday after the man fired a shot at a Janesville police detective and fled from officers through residential neighborhoods on the city’s west side, police said in a news release.

An off-duty officer recognized Tyrone Gibson, 25, of Janesville, in the area of Oakhill Avenue and Barham Street on the west side of Janesville at about 11:30 a.m. Gibson had a temporary warrant for his arrest on suspicion of attempted first-degree homicide after a shooting last week, according to a police news release.
