ELKHORN – The Walworth County Department of Health and Human Services will have a free screening of the movie “Twisters†as a way to appreciate active Medical Reserve Corps volunteers for their “invaluable service to our community†and to attract additional volunteer members, according to a press release.
The screening will be at the Emagine Geneva Lakes Theater, 2565, Highway 120, Lake Geneva, on Aug. 14 at 6 p.m.
The Walworth County MRC was established in 2009, and “has worked hard ever since to improve our community’s health, safety, and resiliency,†the release states.
The group has medical and non-medical volunteers who provide essential support during public health emergencies, natural disasters and community outreach events.
“Our MRC volunteers are crucial to our emergency preparedness and public health initiatives,†Walworth County Public Health Officer Erica Bergstrom said. “We want to celebrate their contributions and encourage other community members to consider joining this exceptional group.
