Janesville police are asking for the publics help in locating a motorcyclist, shown riding a green sport cycle and wearing a white helmet decorated with lightning bolts, who drove away from an attempted traffic stop Saturday night.

JANESVILLE

Authorities say theyre still trying to identify a helmeted motorcyclist who blazed away from police on a green sport cycle during an attempted traffic stop late Saturday on Milton Avenue.

Janesville police said in an alert theyre still trying to find the man who they said peeled off at a high rate of speed along the city thoroughfare as officers were trying to pull over his motorcycle at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police are turning to the public to help locate the man, who in images provided by police is shown wearing jeans, a dark shirt and a white motorcycle helmet with colorful, stylized lightning bolts.

Despite the riders high-voltage taste in headgear, the bike itself was shown as a nondescript, medium-green sport cycle.

Anyone who recognizes the motorcyclist, his helmet or his bike is asked to call Janesville police at 608-755-3100 or Janesville Area CrimeStoppers at 608-756-3636.
