The Trump administration has said that the arrest and removal of Abrego Garcia to an El Salvadoran prison that is known for human rights abuses was an “administrative error."
They have chosen to openly ignore court orders to bring Abrego Garcia back to the US. The Trump administration’s stance on this shows their inhumane policies and their total indifference towards the U.S. Constitution.
Since Abrego Garcia has been in this county, he has complied with ICE and DHS orders. There were no legal grounds for this man’s arrest and removal from this country. President Trump supports labeling a person as a criminal, kidnapping them and sending them to a prison in another country when there is no proof of any wrong doing.
The Trump administration has a total disregard for the U.S. Constitution - that we are all equal before the law and have the right of due process, which every person is entitled to, citizens and noncitizens alike! The Trump administration’s actions and beliefs are those of an authoritarian government. If this does not highly concern you, it should.
Of the 238 men sent to El Salvador, only 10% have been proven to have any type of felony or misdemeanor charge. Trump’s conversation with the President of El Salvador is on tape when he said that he wants to do “homegrown criminals next.”
Are we actually sending people to a concentration camp? You decide…The definition of a concentration camp is a prison or other facility used for the internment of political prisoners or politically targeted demographics commonly in large groups, without trial. A prison is a building in which people are legally held as a punishment for a crime they have committed or while awaiting trial.
I am in disbelief that this is being allowed to happen in the United States. What has happened to the checks and balances outlined in the U.S. Constitution? The Republicans in congress have power to stop what is happening and they choose not to.
They are complicit – Brian Steil and Ron Johnson, both. Trump and his Republican cohorts have zero empathy, zero conscious, zero morals and zero regard for the US Constitution. I hope and pray that those that I love and care about are never an “administrative error” under the Trump administration.
