JANESVILLE ��� The hunt to replace retiring Janesville Police Chief David Moore will be led by in-house city staff, not by an outside recruitment firm, city officials said Monday.

Janesville���s main chamber of commerce, Forward Janesville, will move forward without its longtime vice-president, Dan Cunningham, who for years acted as the chamber���s head of lobbying and government relations.

JANESVILLE ��� The four finalists in the search for Janesville's next city manager have backgrounds ranging from work in county administration and at the state treasury department to top administrative roles in suburban communities outside Chicago and Milwaukee.

JANESVILLE ��� Janesville city officials have declined to identify those a City Hall release on Monday afternoon called ���finalists��� for the job of city manager, saying the applicants need a chance to apprise current employers of their job hunt.

A store official for Hy-Vee said the company is hiring more than 600 full-time and part-time workers at the Humes Road store plans a grand opening in February.

The city of Janesville intends by early February to release a list of finalists in its ongoing hunt for a new city manager, and it���s already released a timeline for interviews of finalists in early March.

A new Janesville Police Department officer started work Monday, the department said in a news release.

Janesville Police Chief David Moore will spend the rest of the fall and possibly the winter splitting duties between the Janesville police headquarters on North Jackson Street and the city manager���s office across the street at City Hall.
