JANESVILLE – With insurance costs rising, the Janesville School Board on Tuesday voted to renew a health plan for school district staff, while decreasing what the district pays into it.
The House of Mercy women’s shelter will reopen this week under new management after weeks of being shuttered amid recent turnover and a shortage of shelter staff and volunteers.
Citing accreditation rule changes and a staffing crunch, Mercyhealth officials say the hospital group has shelved its manned, MD-1 emergency vehicle, and later this year, its Janesville hospital and trauma center will downgrade from a Level II trauma center to a Level III designation.
