The Rock River is under a flood watch after days of rain have soaked the ground and filled tributaries. Extended forecasts say the river could jump to nearly 12 feet at Afton by next week — a prospect that's prompted the county to activate sandbag-filling stations in Newville and the town of Rock.
JANESVILLE – After several inches of rain this weekend, Janesville-area farmers say they're hoping for a drier week to continue planting, amid a mild spring and rising temperatures.
The humid, rainy weather might be edging its way out, but it has left the Janesville area with unusually sodden ground and swollen streams in what was the second-wettest September in seven decades.
Much of southeast Wisconsin will be under a flash flood watch overnight, the National Weather Service said.
Milton experienced heavy rains Thursday night and early Friday morning.
