JANESVILLE -- Janesville officials said Sunday it will likely take two days to restore power to parts of the city’s southside after confirmed EF-2 tornado hit there on Saturday night.

JANESVILLE – The general public was asked Sunday to stay away from the southside of Janesville after a tornado -- later confirmed as an EF-2 -- touched down there about 8 p.m. Saturday night.

An unseasonable storm that whisked through the Stateline overnight Wednesday packed winds of 45 to 55 miles per hour and knocked out power to nearly 3,000 people in Rock County, officials said.
