SAN ANTONIO Miles Barnstable, a former standout guard for UW-Whitewater, has officially signed a training camp deal with the San Antonio Spurs, the team announced this week.
Barnstable played two years for the Warhawks from 2022-24 before transferring out. He would go on to attend St. Thomas University (Minn.) before wrapping up his collegiate career at Tulsa.
The Sheboygan, Wisconsin, native and Howards Grove High School grad made waves during his two-year stint with the Warhawks.
Barnstable was an integral piece to UW-Whitewaters Final Four run in the 2022-23 season. A freshman at the time, Barnstable scored a team-high 16.2 points/game that season en route to being named as the 2023 WIAC Newcomer of the Year.
While the Warhawks didnt reach the same heights the following season, Barnstables talent didnt go unnoticed by Division I programs. The youngster ended up moving up to the D-I level by spending his junior year with the Tommies before heading to Tulsa for the 2025-26 season.
The training camp contract Barnstable signed was likely an Exhibit 10 contract, according to NBA writer Paul Garcia. An Exhibit 10 contract allows Barnstable to earn a $91K bonus if hes waived by San Antonio and then spends at least 60 days with the Austin Spurs in the G League, per Garcia.
Training camp for the defending Western Conference champion Spurs officially opens Tuesday, September 29. A little over a week later, San Antonio will play its preseason opener against the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday, October 8. Barnstable will be aiming to impress over these next couple of weeks.
We are all incredibly happy for him. Pat and I and everyone at Whitewater was very supportive when he had the opportunity to enter the portal and go Division I. Hes clearly capitalized on that opportunity, UW-Whitewater head coach Jarod Wichser said in an interview with The 69蹤獲 back when Barnstable signed his Summer League contract with the Spurs in July.
