MADISON — Jaela Auguste and Chalie Fuerbringer of the Wisconsin volleyball team received numerous preseason recognitions over the weekend.

The duo started by being named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Player of the Year Watch List, announced by the AVCA Thursday afternoon. Later that same day, Fuerbringer and Auguste were named to the 2026 All-Big Ten Preseason Team, announced by the conference.

Auguste and Fuerbringer were two of the 30 total student-athletes named to the AVCA’s watch list, while making up two of the nineteen players that made this year’s All-Big Ten Preseason Team.

Setter Charlie Fuerbringer returns for her third season with the Badger Red and White. The All-American started in 24 matches a season ago, missing nine matches due to injury. Fuerbringer was named All-Big Ten First Team while averaging 12.34 assists per set, 2.57 digs per set, and 0.78 kills per set.

Middle blocker Jalea August spent her first two seasons at Florida, and the All-American started and played in all 28 matches for the Gators in 2025. Auguste hit .344 on the season, averaging 2.69 kills per set and 0.98 blocks per set. In 2025, Auguste earned AVCA Third Team All-American recognition while also earning AVCA Southeast Region First Team, and All-SEC First Team honors.

In the Big Ten Preseason Poll, Nebraska was a unanimous selection to win the Big Ten, while Wisconsin was picked to finish second in the conference. Penn State and Purdue rounded out the league’s top five.

The Badgers finished second a season ago with a 28-5, 17-3 overall record.

Wisconsin will begin its competitive schedule on August 8 beginning with an exhibition match against Badger alumnae. First serve is set for 6 p.m. on B1G+.
