EDGERTON — The Edgerton boys basketball team pulled away late from Beloit Turner in a Rock Valley Conference showdown Tuesday night, winning 65-58.
A layup by Turner senior AJ Dotson tied the game up at 58-58 with 3:16 left, but the Trojans wouldn’t score for the remainder of the contest and dropped their first RVC game.
The Crimson Tide clinched the game by going 4-for-4 at the free throw stripe in the game’s final minute.
Turner had a solid lead throughout the first half, but Vinny Fox hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to cut the advantage to 32-29 at halftime.
The Trojans were led by Chris Johnson’s 17 points, while AJ Dotson added 12.
In Brodhead, the Clinton Cougars put up 47 second-half points en route to a runaway 88-74 victory on the road Tuesday night.
Clinton was led by Mason Floberg’s 21 points. Markus Ewers added 17 points on the strength of five 3-pointers, and Brady Nowak added 12 on four treys. Landyn Williams finished with 14 points as well.
Brodhead, which trailed 41-35 at the half, was led by Sam Searls’ 26 points. Nolan Bump added 18 and Dylan Ross finished with 11.

LARSEN PACES BLUE DEVILS PAST BIG FOOT
In Evansville, Harker Larsen scored 18 points to lead the host Blue Devils past the visiting Chiefs, 59-52. Matthew Wiekersham added 13 and Tyrell Louis added 11.
Big Foot was led by Jayden Paul with 14 points, including three of his team’s eight 3-pointers. Owen Smith chipped in 13 for the Chiefs, who trailed 31-26 at halftime. They converted only 6-of-14 free throws in the loss.
