The Beloit Turner and Edgerton boys basketball team will have to work out a schedule for sharing the Rock Valley Rock Division crown that both squads claimed Thursday night after winning their regular-season finales.
With the Trojans’ win over Walworth Big Foot and the Crimson Tide’s victory against Clinton, each of the teams finished with a 13-2 record in conference play. It is Turner’s first conference title since the 2016-17 season, when it finished 15-1 in the Rock Valley South. Edgerton won the Rock Valley Valley Division back in 2013-14 with a 15-1 mark.
Edgerton had a chance to claim sole possession of the title had it beaten Turner on Monday, but the Trojans swept the season series against the Crimson Tide for to help give them a share of the crown.
The two will very likely meet in the postseason as Turner was awarded the No. 5 seed and will host No. 12 Mayville at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The winner of that game will play at No. 4 seed Edgerton on March 1.
In their game Thursday night, the Trojans’ used a strong defensive presence and balanced scoring to rout the visiting Chiefs.
Big Foot (10-14, 5-10), which lost its sixth-straight game and has not won since senior Hudson Torrez’s season ended with an injury, couldn’t find an offensive flow as it fell behind 35-17 by halftime.
The Trojans (18-6), who hit five 3-pointers in the first half and finished with 13 total treys, were paced by seniors Noah Amosa and Elijah Terrell’s nine points. Terrell finished with a trio of threes and a game-high 17 points while Amosa had 12. Carter Fernandez, who hit three 3-pointers, added 11 and James Njoo was next with 10.
The Chiefs’ leading scorer was Dakota Nordmeyer, who scored seven points. Ninth-seeded Big Foot will open postseason play at No. 8 Lomira on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Edgerton 81, Clinton 48 — The Crimson Tide routed the Cougars to grab their share of the conference crown. No further information was reported. Edgerton went 18-6 overall.
- Brodhead 64, Evansville 59 — Gunner Boegli scored 17 points to lead four Cardinals with double-digit scoring in their win Thursday night, which gave them a winning record in Rock Valley Rock Division play for the season.
The teams started a little slowly with Brodhead (12-12, 8-7) leading 27-25 at the break despite three 3-pointers for Evansville’s Mathew Wickersham in the first half.
Boegli and Cullen Walker each scored 12 points in the second half. Walker and Jaxon Dooley each finished with 14 in the game, and Gabe Bockhop had 10.
The Blue Devils (4-20, 2-13) were able to keep pace, though, thanks in part to 11 made 3’s. Wickersham finished with five 3-pointers and 17 points, while Karder Tway made three from beyond the arc and led Evansville with 19 points.
Brodhead will host a Division 4 playoff game against Wisconsin Heights at 7 p.m. Tuesday, while Evansville will play a Division 3 game at Prairie du Chien at the same time.

Orfordville Parkview 74, Johnson Creek 65 — The Vikings ended the regular season with an offensive explosion as they poured on 40 second-half points and got 10 different players in the scoring column to defeat visiting Trailways South foe Johnson Creek.
Oliver Friedrich and Aiden Crane each contributed nine points in the first half as the Vikings (6-17, 5-7) held a close 34-30 lead at intermission.
Crane added 10 more points to bring his total to 19 and Mathias Treinen scored nine of his 15 points after halftime to help Parkview pull away. Dylan Bredlow and Tanner Herman each scored nine points for the Blue Jays (10-13, 5-7) in the second half.
Parkview went 18-for-26 on free throws compared to Johnson Creek’s 8-for-11.
Herman paced Johnson Creek with 19 while Brady Fincutter scored 12.
The Vikings finish in a tie for fourth in the conference and open Division postseason play as the 13th-seed against No. 4 Cuba City on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
