JANESVILLE — Janesville Craig won all but one event in a 112-55 victory over rival Janesville Parker on Friday night in the Vikings’ home pool.
Parker’s Owen Woerth secured the top time in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:10.42. Besides that, it was all the Cougars.
Craig’s top relay team (Jack Van Berkum, Finnegan Ruthe, Jack Fuelleman and Tim Schuldt) won the 200-yard medley relay in 1:51.19.
In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Ruthe and Schuldt, along with Bentley Martin-McArron and Caydin Hibee, won in 1:41.98 to narrowly defeat Parker’s time of 1:42.22. For the Vikings, Noah Fraiser, Woerth, Theodore Nunley and Jadyn Fraiser competed in that relay.
In the final event, the 400-yard freestyle relay, Fuelleman, Martin-McArron, Hibee and Van Berkum swam a time of 3:48.81.
“The guys did very well, it was a great day,” Craig coach Matt Palma said. “It’s always a goal for us to win. The guys are really close to a lot of swimmers over there, so I like to think its like your brothers. You hate losing to them, but deep down you still love them.”
