EDGERTON — Coming off a season where the Edgerton girls’ basketball team went 25-3 and made it to a sectional final, the Crimson Tide are focused on improving any way they can—and they’re using this summer to do so.
The team is set to compete in the Wisconsin Sports Network All-State Summer Shootout, which is set for today at Beaver Dam High School. Games are set to start at 8 a.m. when Edgerton takes on Platteville.
“It’s one of the better tournaments of the summer in the state as far as quality of opponents,” Edgerton coach Chris Jenny said. “So we’re excited about it. We were pretty selective about where we wanted to play this summer to make sure we were seeing the best competition.”

Edgerton will be in Pool B. In addition to Platteville, the Crimson Tide will play Middleton and Beaver Dam.
“This summer is more about us,” Jenny said. “So we don’t worry too much about who we’re playing.”
The trio of teams the Crimson Tide will face should provide them with a challenge.
Platteville ended the season as the No. 8 ranked team in the Division 3 coaches’ poll, one spot behind Edgerton. Beaver Dam is a multi-time state championship-winning program.
“With a really good core coming back,” Jenny added.
And Middleton is a Division 1 team that plays in the Big Eight Conference.
“So it’s going to be three really good games,” Jenny said, “really tough, difficult games, but it’s more about us just seeking competition, trying to get ourselves better.”
Jenny also said he expects all of his players to be able to play.
Earlier this summer, the Crimson Tide went 4-0 at a tournament in Appleton. The Crimson Tide defeated Xavier, Waterford, Nicolet and Dominican.
