DOVER, Del. — Wisconsin was well-represented on the podium this past Friday at Dover Motor Speedway, as ThorSport Racing’s Ty Majeski finished runner-up to Kyle Busch in the ECOSAVE 200.
Majeski, a native or Seymour, Wisconsin, is taking part in his fifth full-time season within the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Majeski won the 2024 Truck Series title, and he has his sights on doing the same in 2026 as his second-place finish at Dover saw him jump up into fifth in the driver standings.
“We were in the game today,” Majeski said after the race. “Played cat and mouse with Kyle a little bit, felt my truck kind of go away balance-wise a little bit and then just kind of went into save mode just to make sure we finished second.”
Busch, who had built up a comfortable lead early-on in the race, needed to change his strategy in the closing laps to manage his fuel. What resulted was a strategic game of chess between Busch and Majeski that came down to the final lap of the race.
Ultimately, Busch prevailed, surviving the late push by Majeski to secure his place on the top step of the podium.
“Definitely some managing of the fuel there, some managing of the tires there,” Busch said following his victory. “It was an interesting strategic battle from the driver’s seat.”
The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will be back in action next weekend with the field headed to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the North Carolina Education Lottery 200. That race is set for Friday, May 22 at 6:30 p.m. CT and will be available to watch on FS1.
