MILTON It is always a relief to find out that a bar has good food and a diverse menu. Then I can relax knowing that all my needs will be met and just enjoy it.

At Milton Roadhouse it was actually a quiet and low key evening with the holidays behind us. Football playing on the TVs was on low and the waitress/bartender had time to visit with us. She was incredible, when we asked for a cocktail list, she confidently said, I can make anything.
With the sky the limit this became a challenge for us to explore Google for things to try. My son, wanting to call her bluff, decided on something called a Hurricane ($8.50) which became his new favorite, light and dark rum, lime juice, orange juice, pineapple juice and grenadine. She passed the test!
The Roadhouse is right on Highway 59, yet Id never noticed it. The current owner, who also owns Pettits, opened the establishment just a year ago. They have bingo, live music, and specials. On Saturday nights its prime rib. Fridays are fish fry night. Saturday and Sunday from 9 to noon they serve breakfast. From the moment you step inside, it feels like an up-north, rustic eatery where youre surrounded by knotty pine, evoking a feeling of warmth and coziness.
The Milton Roadhouse is made up of two very large rooms. The first one houses the bar that seats around 20 and several pub tables and chairs. There are 4 TVs and video poker machines for your entertainment. The second room is even larger and is mainly used for hosting events. Theres a stage for musicians, a pool table and tons of seating. The Roadhouse hosted a hugely successful Winter Festival in 2025. Raising a good amount of cash, they donated a large portion to the Milton and Edgerton school districts for their lunch programs.

From the Scooby Snacks menu we started with cheese curds ($8.50), crispy and chewy, then the fried green beans ($8.50). These were a huge hit, fresh green beans with a crunch. And, because who could resist, we ordered the Milton log rolls ($13.50). There were four large crunchy rolls of mac n cheese logs.
I loved their 8-step burger builder idea. I didnt try anything new on my burger but I loved all the options. I had an angus with lettuce, tomato, onion, cheddar cheese and pickle on a challah roll (13.50). It was big and perfect. I got it with fries which were seasoned and yummy.
My son had wings (10 for $16.50) which were juicy and tasty. He ordered Vampire Killer sauce but didnt think it was all that hot, although he did say it built up as he kept eating. The side of chips were hand cut, warm, and addicting. His girlfriend had Roadhouse Tatchos ($13.50), tater tots covered in grilled chicken, cheese, sour cream and salsa.
Under the Baked/Loaded potato section of the menu, Jennifer decided on the BBQ pulled pork ($12.95). An enormous split baked potato arrived, nearly taking up the whole plate! It was beautifully colorful with lots of house-made, slow cooked pulled pork providing a nice smoky, tangy taste. Layered on top of the pork was shredded cheddar, sliced green onions and a drizzling of bbq sauce. It was absolutely delicious and very filling. A cup of coleslaw consisting of cabbage and carrots came with her meal as well as a cup of creamed corn that she handed off to Beth, who thought it was like Mexican street corn without the spice. Delicious!

Choosing something on the lighter side, Helene ordered the blue cheese chicken salad ($13.95). The most impressive thing about the salad was the chicken. Sliced chicken breast strips that were well seasoned, moist, warm, and tender to the bite sitting on a bed of chopped iceberg lettuce. A few chunks of lettuce seemed to have missed the chopping block because they were quite large, but all were fresh and juicy. The tomatoes were finely diced with shredded cheddar on top. The blue cheese dressing was smooth and tangy with a great taste. A light salad with enough protein to fill her up.

As we left with to-go boxes in hand, visions of yummy leftovers the next day were at the forefront of our minds.
