BELOIT — A 16-year-old from Beloit made his initial appearance in Rock County Circuit Court Tuesday afternoon in connection with the April 5 fatal shooting of a Janesville man in Beloit.

Andre J. Rainey Sr. (not Jr. as reported in legal documents) faces charges of party to the crime of first-degree intentional homicide, attempted first-degree intentional homicide, two counts of attempted armed robbery and possession of a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent. Jaiden Benitez, 20, of Janesville, was found in a vehicle in the 1300 block of Nelson Avenue in Beloit. He was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead on April 5.
