JANESVILLE -- The Janesville City Council will declare a winter weather emergency when hazardous conditions warrant the removal of snow and ice from city streets, including instances of more than 2-3 inches of snow, freezing rain or freezing fog, or other conditions that warrant a response.

During a winter weather emergency, all vehicles must be removed from city streets until snow and ice control operations are complete. Parking citations with a $50 fine may be issued by the Janesville Police Department for vehicles that violate the parking restrictions. Vehicles may also be towed at the owners expense.

A winter weather emergency is a city-wide declaration and will be in effect until all snow and/or ice has been cleared.

Winter weather emergency declarations are posted on the citys website and city social media sites, issued as Nixle alerts from the Janesville Police Department, and shared with local news outlets including The 69蹤獲. Information is also on the Snow Hotline at (608) 755-SNOW (755-7669)
