JANESVILLE — Construction along East Court Street in downtown Janesville will close a portion of the corridor between South Main and Jackman — a five-block stretch by the Rock County Courthouse, starting Monday.
According to the city, the work is to repair concrete at various spots between South Parker Drive and South Atwood Avenue. The road is expected to be closed for about two weeks. The target date to complete is May 15, according to the city.
Traffic will be detoured to Jackman Street, St. Lawrence Avenue and Main Street during the closure.
The courthouse public parking lots and the South Wisconsin Street parking lot will remain accessible from St. Lawrence Avenue.
The construction temporarily closes multiple bus stops. The stop at East Court and Main streets will have an alternate stop at the Transit Center, 123 S. River St. The closure at the stop at E. Court and Parker will create a temporary stop at the southwest corner of East Milwaukee and Parker Place. There will be a temporary stop at the southwest corner of East Milwaukee and Atwood for closures at East Court and South Atwood and East Court and Sinclair.
The closure at the East Court and Garfield will lead to a temporary stop at the southwest corner of East Centerway and Garfield. The closure at East Court and South Ringold will lead to a temporary stop at the southwest corner of East Milwaukee and Fremont.
