JANESVILLE — The Janesville Plan Commission will hold a public hearing Monday night for a proposed doggie daycare at 2315 W. Court St.
Commission also on Monday night is slated to set a public hearing for a proposed car wash on the site of a former Hardee’s restaurant, 2328 Humes Road.
According to its website, , Crew Carwash was founded in 1948 in Fort Wayne, Ind., as Mike’s Minit Man. The company now operates locations in Indiana and Minnesota. The Janesville site would be its second in Wisconsin. Its first, in Madison, was announced in August.
Meanwhile, Zoomies Dog Academy is seeking to open a doggie daycare at 2315 W. Court St. On its website, , it says it hopes to open in late November or early December.
The Plan Commission meets at 6 p.m. Monday in the council chambers at Janesville City Hall, 18 N. Jackson St.
Both proposals require conditional use permits from the city to move forward. The Plan Commission will not take any action Monday on the car wash other than setting a public hearing for 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 3.
According to Plan Commission meeting documents, Zoomies Dog Academy plans to locate in a 6,284-square-foot building that previously housed Ironside Fitness Center. It proposes to renovate the building and property and install fencing for a dog run.
Crew Carwash plans to construct a 5,674-square-foot building with four vehicle-queuing lanes and vacuum stations. The developer would raze the existing Hardee’s building and replace it with an automated car wash oriented toward the U.S. Highway 14 corridor, adjoining the property to the north.
