JANESVILLE — Garrik Harwick has officially announced his candidacy for the Rock County Board of Supervisors, seeking to represent District 20.
District 20 encompasses Janesville’s westside neighborhoods surrounding Parker High School. The seat on the Rock County Board is currently held by Chris Cullen.
Harwick noted in a release he has spent 37 of his 41 years living in the district.
“This is the community that shaped me,” Harwick said in the release. “It’s where I grew up, where I graduated from Parker High School, and where my wife and I chose to raise our own family. I care deeply about this place, and I want to give back in a meaningful way.”
A master electrician by trade, Harwick currently serves as assistant business manager for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union 890. In this role, he recruits and dispatches electricians, collaborates with area schools and students to expand access to the electrical trade, supports membership growth, and negotiates fair labor contracts.
“Ensuring that our community continues to grow and thrive starts with supporting the people who live and work here,” Harwick said. “I’m committed to bringing my experience, my values, and my lifelong connection to this district to the Rock County Board of Supervisors.”
Harwick said his campaign will focus on community engagement, responsible governance, and strengthening opportunities for families and workers across District 20.
“I would be honored to serve the residents of the 20th District,” he said. “Together, we can build a strong future for our westside neighborhoods and for Rock County as a whole.”
