MILTON — The School District of Milton has approved the contract terms with the consulting firm it selected to help with its superintendent hiring process.
The board selected Hazard, Young Attea & Associates on Jan. 5 and started negotiating the terms Jan. 6. On Monday, the board approved the work to be capped at $22,500. That will include $19,500 and $3,000 for “possible daily expenses.”
The board approved the job posting, which will be at a booth at the Wisconsin Association of School Boards Convention in Milwaukee Jan. 21-23. It will also be on the HYA website.
Scott Winch of HYA, spoke at the meeting. He has 21 years of experience as a school superintendent in Wisconsin. For 18 years, he was a school superintendent in Niagara in northern Wisconsin and Stratford in central Wisconsin. He was also the interim superintendent in Owen-Withee, which is also in central Wisconsin.
Winch said that applicants will remain confidential initially.
“We really try to keep everything confidential until we get into the interview process,” Winch said.
The posting and the contract terms were approved unanimously.
