MILTON — Shumway Appliance in Milton has abruptly closed its doors after 98 years in business.

At Shumway Appliance in Milton on Thursday, the sign had been taken down, windows were covered with paper and the parking lot was empty.

Owner Mike Blabaum told the 69 on Thursday that he couldn’t share the reason. He also couldn’t say what will happen to people’s appliances that they have ordered and already paid for but not yet received.
