According to a release, the westbound vehicle was driven by a 30-year-old man. The eastbound vehicle also had a 74-year-old female passenger from Elkhorn.

Both drivers were transported to area hospitals by UW Health Med Flight. The female driver was pronounced dead at the hospital. The female passenger was also transported by ambulance.

The crash remains under investigation by the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office. Whitewater Fire and EMS assisted at the scene. County Highway A was closed in both directions following the crash.
