JANESVILLE — After more than four decades in health care, Jane Curran-Meuli, president of SSM Health Monroe Hospital and SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital — Janesville, has announced her retirement.
Curran-Meuli started her career as a registered nurse in pediatrics and women’s health before transitioning into executive leadership.

“She has dedicated the past 6 years to guiding the strategic direction of both hospitals, aligning with SSM Health’s Mission and system-wide priorities,” a release said.
“Curran-Meuli is a steadfast advocate for patient-centered care. She has been recognized with numerous awards, including as one of Becker’s Hospital Review’s ‘118 Rural Hospital and Health System Presidents and CEOs to know’ for 2025,” the release continued.
In retirement, Curran-Meuli plans to explore Wisconsin and spend more time with her loved ones.

“SSM Health teams in Monroe and Janesville are grateful for Curran-Meuli’s leadership and wish her well in her next adventure,” the release said.
Chelsea Hardacre, chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care for SSM Health in Monroe and Janesville, will serve as interim president for the two health ministries, as of late December.
