JANESVILLE — I have always believed in ghosts and the idea of an afterlife. When I moved down to Janesville a little over a year ago. I looked up what places were haunted and the Lincoln-Tallman House came up.

When the opportunity came to investigate the home and report on it, I was so excited. I watched ghost hunting shows when I was younger, so I knew some things about the equipment and process of hunting ghosts.

Janesville’s Lincoln-Tallman House was the home of a prominent family in the 1850s and many think that the family still haunts the house to this day. Last January a Wisconsin based ghost hunting team came to the home to investigate.

Brandon Rugzie and Mitch Goth came on a snowy night in January and we went around the home and called out to the spirits that supposedly haunted the place. I got to ask questions and operate the Electromagnetic Field meter that measures the electricity that ghosts are allegedly able to manipulate.

I was ecstatic and nervous because we walked around the home in the dark. We experienced a flashlight that had been working the whole time, but then it stopped working, but then turned on again on command.

I was able to learn more about the home and the people who lived there. I never saw anything, but I heard unexplained noises and even smelt fresh laundry in the upstairs bathroom.

It was hands down one of the coolest experiences and one that I will always share with people.
