The 140 healthcare workers started their strike July 2, and have since held picket lines in front of the Mercyhealth East Clinic in shifts Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

President of UAW Local 95, Judy McRoberts said that their office has already received “dozens of calls with people saying they will be coming for the rally, with surprisingly no negative feedback.”

“Some members of the community feel Mercy is treating our people poorly,” McRoberts said, referencing their advocacy for safety and fair wages. “You know we have tons of people come out and show their support with gatorade, water and snacks, this is just another way of showing that support.”
