EVANSVILLE – The Evansville Community School District is planning four community information sessions to meet with the public about an upcoming operational referendum.
The Centennial houses three businesses and seven apartments at 19 E. Main St. The building replaces the former Night Owl Food & Spirits, which was destroyed in a 2016 fire.
If the city receives a Department of Natural Resources grant, it would cover half of the estimated $114,190 cost to repair spalling on the dam walls—or $57,095. The city would pay the other half.
The Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group is asking Evansville residents for comments on the police department's ability to meet accreditation standards.
Patrick Reese has served as interim Evansville police chief since July and has been with the department since 2005. The city council likely will approve his hiring as police chief next week.
Property evaluators will visit about 2,200 businesses and houses with the goal of getting a more accurate picture of property values, City Administrator Ian Rigg said.
