In goal, Kaenan Smith fended off 26 of 27 shots.

In Saturday’s loss, the Jets scored an opening-period goal by Michael Zajac with assists from Hans Hedlund and Ty Bashaw. In the second period, the Windigo got to work, scoring three goals.

Two goalies saw action for the Jets. Christopher Prater started and saved all 18 shots he saw in the first period. After letting up two goals in the second period, he was pulled for Smith, who saved 21 of 22 shots.

Next up for the Jets is Fairbanks Ice Dogs on Saturday, Sept. 20. It will be the first game played in the new Mercy Health Arena in the Woodman’s Sports and Convention Center.
