JANESVILLE — A 23-year-old Janesville man has been charged in Rock County Circuit Court in the death of another man, following an alleged hit-and-run on W. Milwaukee Street.
Noe Perez Reyes was formally charged Monday with hit and run involving death. He was released from the Rock County Jail Tuesday on $3,000 cash bond and is set to appear at a preliminary court hearing at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20.
Wisconsin’s online circuit court database shows no past criminal record for Perez Reyes.
Kelby Hall, 34, of Janesville died from injuries suffered in the crash, after he ran into oncoming traffic on W. Milwaukee Street and was struck by Perez Reyes’ vehicle, Janesville police said.
Perez Reyes left the scene and was later arrested on tentative charges of knowingly operating a vehicle without a valid license causing death, and hit-and-run causing death.
Janesville police responded to the 600 block of West Milwaukee Street around 7 p.m. on Saturday for a report of a traffic crash with injuries. According to a release, Reyes struck Hall while driving westbound on Milwaukee Street, approaching the five points intersection.
Hall was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Westbound traffic on West Milwaukee Street from North Academy Street was closed for several hours.
This incident remains under investigation by the Janesville Police Department and the Rock County Medical Examiner’s Department.
