BELOIT — An April jury trial has been set for a 34-year-old Beloit man charged will killing a Beloit mother of 5.
The trial for Tyrone Young will be April 15-19. Young was arrested for allegedly shooting and killing Siphannya “Bee” Bousar on Feb. 22, 2023.
According to a criminal complaint, Beloit police responded to the 1300 block of Porter Avenue at 8:45 a.m. on Feb. 22, after Young called 9-1-1. Young claimed that he had been shot so he “shot her back and believed she was deceased.”
When officers arrived at the scene, they found Young with a shoulder injury, Bousar, 29, dead from a gunshot to the head, and five children with a dog inside a bedroom. Officers took the children out through a bedroom window to not expose them to the scene.
Young was treated at a local hospital for a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
Bousar’s death was the first homicide of 2023 in Beloit.
Bousar had filed for a restraining order against Young in January in Dane County where Young lived. That court filing stated Young had tried to break into Bousar’s home.
Young has been charged with first-degree intentional homicide and five counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety.
Young is in custody as he awaits trial.
