JANESVILLE — The Rock County Medical Examiner’s Department has released the name of a man who died Saturday in a hit-and-run crash on W. Milwaukee Street.
Kelby Hall, 34, of Janesville died from injuries sustained in the crash, according to a press release.
Janesville police had said in an earlier release that a man died in a hit-and-run crash after he ran into oncoming traffic on W. Milwaukee Street.
The driver of the vehicle, Noe Perez Reyes, 23, left the scene and was later arrested on tentative charges of knowingly operating a vehicle without a valid license causing death, and hit-and-run causing death. Reyes is being held at the Rock County Jail. As of Tuesday afternoon, no criminal charges had been filed in Rock County Circuit Court.
Janesville police responded to the 600 block of West Milwaukee Street around 7 p.m. on Saturday for a report of a traffic crash with injuries. According to a release, Reyes struck the victim while driving westbound on Milwaukee Street, approaching the five points intersection.
Hall was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Westbound traffic on West Milwaukee Street from North Academy Street was closed for several hours.
This incident remains under investigation by the Janesville Police Department and the Rock County Medical Examiner’s Department.
