Unless you've been living under a rock--or, like much of the state, buried under a pile of snow--you'll know there hasn't been much going on lately for area high school girls soccer teams.
The weather is supposed to improve late this week. It's looking like we will finally break free from the last remnants of winter.
So, here's some games to look forward to in the coming week.
Delavan-Darien at Evansville, Thursday, 6:45 p.m.--The Comets are unbeaten in their last two matches, while the Blue Devils have lost three straight games, though two were by 1-0 scorelines.
Lake Geneva Badger at Big Foot/Williams Bay, Monday, 6:30 p.m.--This should be an interesting nonconference match between two teams I have ranked in my area top five. Will the ChiefDogs be running on empty, though? It will be their fourth game in five days.
Janesville Craig at Sun Prairie, Tuesday, 7 p.m.--The Cougars and Cardinals tied for third place in the Big Eight Conference last season, so this will be an excellent measuring-stick match for a Craig team that is eyeing a conference title. The Cougars defeated the Cardinals 3-1 in a regional final last June to avenge a regular-season defeat.
